Specialist dealers honoured in awards ceremony
The 2008 Dealer of the Year Awards, organised by Service Dealer, and sponsored by insurance specialists, Lucas Fettes & Partners, took place at an Awards ceremony & dinner held at Savill Court Hotel, Windsor, on September 3rd 2008. Service Dealer Editor, Chris Biddle and Phil Worthington of sponsors Lucas Fettes & Partners, presented the awards.
Heathfield-based Hugh Page (Sussex) Ltd won the 2008 Garden Machinery Dealer of the Year Award. The award was presented to Managing Director, Ian Miller. Hugh Page (Sussex) Ltd has been established for over 40 years, representing leading suppliers of quality lawn and garden care, including Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Toro Wheelhorse, Kubota, Simplicity and Westwood. The cornerstone of the business is service and the knowledge & expertise of their staff.

Hugh Page (Sussex) Ltd
Runners up in the Garden Machinery Dealer of the Year Awards were Ashley Mowers, Cheshire; Green Stripe Garden Machinery, Lincolnshire and JT Williams Garden Machinery, Denbighshire.
Tetbury-based TH White won the 2008 Professional Turfcare Machinery Dealer of the Year Award. TH White’s Grasscare Division is a Ransomes Jacobsen main dealer, with three dedicated depots providing sales, parts, service and hire of machinery to the professional user of grass machinery.

Runners up in the Professional Turfcare Machinery Dealer of the Year Awards were George Brown Implements Ltd, Leighton Buzzard; Radmore & Tucker, Exeter and Nairn Brown (Glasgow) Ltd, Glasgow.
Lisburn-based Johnston Gilpin & Co Ltd won the 2008 Farm Machinery Dealer of the Year Award. Johnston Gilpin & Co Ltd was established in 1968 to distribute the range of John Deere agricultural, C&CE and domestic machinery within Northern Ireland. In the last 38 years, the two depots in Omagh and Coleraine were sold to their managers and the main Lisburn depot was kept to service Co. Down, Co. Armagh and part of Co. Antrim for the agricultural sector, the whole of Northern Ireland for the Professional sector and Counties Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone and part of Antrim for the domestic sector. With 22 staff and a turnover in excess of £8 million, the now family run business is continuously expanding, with new properties, buildings and products.

Runners up in the Farm Machinery Dealer of the Year Awards were Farmstar, Doncaster and Haynes Agricultural, Maidstone.
Tenbury Wells-based Nomark Equip won the 2008 ATV/Quad Dealer of the Year Award. Nomark Equip specialise in the sales of All Terrain Vehicles and associated equipment. They are a family-run business, offering first class personal service whatever your quad bike needs. They are Yamaha dealers but, as a member of the National Quad Centres, they are able to service, repair and supply parts for any make of ATV.

Runners up in the ATV/Quad Dealer of the Year Awards were Palmers Turfcare Ltd, Hailsham and Frank Nichol, Dingwall.
Cheddar-based Ashworth Farm Machinery Ltd won the 2008 Emerging Dealer of the Year Award. Ashworth Farm Machinery Ltd is the John Deere dealer covering Somerset & Avon. It was set up on the 1st November 2006 by half-brothers James Ashworth and Matthew Whyte. They are a dedicated and dynamic young team who offer the full sales, service and parts support package that you would expect from a main dealer.
