ABOUT NELSON PUBLISHING
The founder and present editor, Chris Biddle has worked for Ford tractors in the UK and abroad, and a multi-branch agricultural and garden machinery dealership in the West Country. He is an elected member of the Garden Writers Guild, the Guild of Agricultural Journalists and a member of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE).
We originally published the garden machinery industry's leading trade magazine, Lawn & Garden Equipment, which first saw the light of day in 1988. Aimed at garden machinery dealers, distributors and suppliers, the magazine was essential reading for all who work in that industry.
In 1998, we launched Golf & Groundscare for the professional turfcare market, and the following year acquired the long-established Parks & Sportsgrounds magazine. The two magazines were merged in 2000 to become Turf Professional.
In 2002, we launched Torque as a farm machinery business magazine for dealers and suppliers of agricultural equipment.
In 2005 we merged Lawn & Garden Equipment and Torque to create Service Dealer.
In 2008 we won the contract to publish Landwards on behalf of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IagrE).
Our small team is based in Salisbury, Wiltshire, where our offices are situated in a tranquil walled garden that backs on to the historic Salisbury Cathedral.
